Online NAPFIS Passive Fire Installer Foundation Level

Online Training for Foundation Students of NAPFIS

Online training is now available to qualify for membership of NAPFIS (Nationwide Association of Passive Fire Installers and Specifiers) Levels of membership are;

Foundation: A Foundation member is entitled to issue NAPFIS certification in the Foundation members name confirming that appropriate Passive Fire Control products have been installed to the manufactures installation instructions. These certificates are created and issued by the member via our members portal within the website.

To qualify for Foundation membership the student has to show his/her ability by undertaking the Foundation membership course and undertake and pass a Level 1 training portfolio prior to training and a level 2 training portfolio  during the training course.

A mandatory requirement of all Foundation students is , self auditing their work this has to be undertaken a minimum of 6 times a year, following completion of Passive Fire Control Work defined as:

Fire Doors, Fire Door Sets full installation or repair and maintenance including furniture, glazed screens, Reinstatement of structures, walls, floors and ceilings with batt & mastic, floor compound, including the fitting of Passive Fire Control fittings, wraps, collars, paint/varnish applied to timber substrates, paint applied to steel sections, damper installation & maintenance.

The training day will be via Zoom using a laptop, ipad/type or smart phone in two, two and a half hour sessions starting 10.30am on the day of training. There will be breaks for tea/coffee and a chat plus a break for lunch concluding by 4.30pm.

Following your training day accumulative scores/information will be brought together and you will be given a total score which will be measured against a predetermined score for NAPFIS membership. Those that have reached the required standard will receive confirmation and certification. Should your score be below the required standard an assessor will contact you direct to discuss in detail options for continuation. This assessment may take between 3-7 days as the marking is undertaken by external examiners.
